Busker Journal Brian Robert Pearce |
Brian Pearce busked the streets
and bars of Europe between the years 1994 and 2000. In addition he
busked in New York while participating in the TIGHTROPE musical, a play
written by Ken Post [ with Bonnie Burns]. The journal exists, at present, as approx. 750,000 hand written words formatted in about 55 segments |
Where
the lyrics of many
'supergroups' were vague, almost gibberish, PINK FLOYD wrote incisive
lyrics that cut at the heart of ambition and aspiration. THE DARK SIDE
OF THE MOON heralded what was coming in our lives - and for most proved
hauntingly true. Of course, the track MONEY predicted the advent of the
greedy society and millionaires who could buy football teams and
private jets. Time would overtake most of us, however, grinding one
dream after another into dust until we are left with those we can
aspire to with some realism. How often has "Hanging on in quiet
desperation is the English way" sprung from my lips, knowing that that
was just what I was doing? Too often! Great music from the Seventies: Next |
