Then the life and loves of a busker can take you into his world for awhile. Reliant entirely on his music and what he can earn from it in bars, on terraces and the street (plus the mutual aid and faith of his friends), he colours his inner and outer worlds with layers of purpose and belief that stretch from real, felt, imaginary to flights of fancy.
What actually is real, felt, imaginary or a flight of fancy can often surprise him as well as those who line his path.
Green Busker
Summer, 1994 - With close to zero busking experience, a man sallies forth from Britain with an idea of busking to survive. He had a one way ticket, no money and a massive well of despair. This book was written after the events and is not part of the diary.
Things we must do
It is January, 1996, and the diary begins. The heart thumping, soul scorching events of 1995 had come to a head and a far from satisfactory resolution.. The zealous unfolding of passion and adventure had subsided into a decision to hide my love away to protect Char from harm - and Ruana and I were embittered toward each other through a sense that we had hardly worked as a team through the Char crisis. Truth was, though, I was in love with Ruana . Passionately in love. But winter was dragging me down.
New Clear Winter
May, 1996 - I arrive back from Switzerland in time to celebrate my birthday with friends in Antwerp. A realisation grows that I am chasing the past and a new philosophy emerges: Move forward. The news that my sister has Leukaemia further adds hieradd to my steps. The open road leads to the future, and Germany, and Luxembourg, and...
Tortoise & Hare
August, 1996 - Two months on from "New Clear Winter" and the busker has aided "Arthur" to lift the sword from the stone. Adventure gathers pace. It is time for more adventure in Luzern, Bern and Gstaad after a little emotional chess in Antwerp.

October, 1998 - The busker monitors his path as Lone Wolf in the spirit world of the Soul as love and relationship quandaries abound in an historic Swiss city.
Monster in New York
August, 1999 - A two week trip to New York to perform in the 'Tightrope' play (Ken Post) turns into an emotional conflagration as an imbalanced relationship collapses.
